Perspectives

The Perspectives Series explores different viewpoints on nature from literature. Using raw canvas, linen and earthy hues, each work is a visual interpretation of quotes that touch on the idea of nature. Human nature, forests and deserts, or the whole ecosystem of earth.

At One Time In The World - acrylic and vinyl on 36” x 36” raw canvas.

“At one time in the world there were woods that no one owned”― Cormac McCarthy, Child of God

“Autumn leaves don’t fall, they fly. They take their time and wander on this their only chance to soar.”

Delia Owens, Where The Crawdads Sing

“The True Joy Of A Moonlit Night” - acrylic and vinyl on 40” x 30” raw canvas in a maple strip frame.

“The true joy of a moonlit night is something we no longer understand. Only the men of old, when there were no lights, could understand the true joy of a moonlit night.”
― Yasunari Kawabata, Palm-of-the-Hand Stories

“Everybody Needs Beauty"” - acrylic and vinyl on 28 x 30” raw linen in a maple strip frame

“Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where Nature may heal and cheer and give strength to body and soul alike.”

John Muir

“This Forest” - acrylic and vinyl on 30” x 28” raw linen in a maple frame.

“This Forest eats itself and lives forever.”
