Field Conditions
Field Conditions is a series of 29 encaustic monotypes exploring landscape as a living system of relationships. Forms gather, overlap, dissolve, and re-form as color and structure move between earthen, mineral, aquatic, and atmospheric registers. Created with wax and pigment transferred onto abaca paper, each work reflects an ongoing exchange between material, process, and the forces that continually shape the natural world.

Fault

"Fault" concentrates pressure and instability along a narrow boundary. A strong rust-colored vertical interrupts adjoining fields of softer color, subtly displacing the forms along its edge and bringing otherwise quiet areas into abrupt contact.
Strata

"Strata" considers accumulation as a record of successive states. Bands and masses build within a larger enclosing form, while shifts in color and opacity allow each layer to remain partially present within what follows.
Ravine

"Ravine" turns negative space into an active force within the composition. A narrow pale opening extends between substantial earthen forms, drawing the eye inward and giving the impression that the surrounding density has been shaped around it.
