Rainshadow No 4
Rainshadow No 4 builds a compact arrangement of overlapping coral, salmon pink, pale rose, and deep crimson forms against dark brown paper. The shapes gather vertically, with the darker lower form supporting lighter, more irregular passages above it. Broken areas of ink expose the paper beneath, creating granular, weathered surfaces that shift between solidity and erosion and emphasize the physical transfer of the monotype process.
The Rainshadow series takes its name from the Mojave Desert’s position in the rain shadow of the mountain ranges surrounding it.
Oil-based printing ink on Canson Mi-Teintes paper · 19.8 × 25.2 in. · Unique monotype
