Rainshadow No 6

$550.00

Rainshadow No 6 brings together irregular fields of coral pink, pale rose, ochre, and charcoal against the muted green of the paper. The forms overlap and press against one another without fully merging, while differences in density and transferred texture give each area its own character. Broken, granular passages of ink reveal the physical process of the monotype, creating surfaces that suggest erosion, rock, and shifting terrain

The Mojave desert, where I live, is in the Rain Shadow of the Sierra Nevada and Tehachapi Mountains to the northwest and the San Gabriel and San Bernardino Mountains to the south of us.

Oil-based printing ink on Canson Mi-Teintes paper · 25.2 × 19.8 in. · Unique monotype
