Arroyo follows the course of a narrow opening through a landscape of weathered forms. Warm, earthy masses gather along either side of a pale, irregular passage, their broken edges suggesting material gradually shaped and displaced by moving water. Changes in color, density, and texture create a contrast between the weight of the surrounding forms and the openness of the channel. The composition holds both the suggestion of movement and the traces it leaves behind.
