Escarpment brings two substantial earth-toned forms into opposition, their steep, irregular edges enclosing a pale interior passage. Deep brown and burgundy rise along either side, interrupted by flashes of golden yellow and softer passages of mauve and mineral pink. The central opening shifts in width as it descends, while a layered, angular form gathers across the lower edge. Granular textures and broken transfers give the darker masses a weathered, exposed quality, suggesting a landscape shaped by erosion, pressure, and the gradual revelation of underlying structures.
